Floor Talk
Floor coatings are one of the most versatile products we sell. There is maintenance coating for the garage or shop to very custom metallic or stain options. It is only as limited as your imagination and experience. After every floor I have done I wish I had something else to do with the new ideas I have come away with from the experience. Our show room is a true display of some of the options. Not only does it represent some of what we sell but you are talking to the applicators. Floor projects are labor intensive not material expensive. When you take the time to do something that often has one shot at being right you need good advice. There are many more options than you will see in our store but it is a great place to start looking to see a particular floor coating and its application for you.
Garage and shop floors are with out a doubt the most popular of the floor products. Once you have seen one you know you would like it on your garage floor. In it’s simplest form it is not expensive and properly applied will give you many years of tough service. It has many benefits. It cleans very easily, reflects light much better, and is chemical resistant to oil. The colors are unlimited. The hardest part for most of us is to empty the garage. Plan on two weeks before you are able to fully use there area again. Application is generally a week and then a week’s cure time before full use. You can walk on it with in 24 hours, but it needs over night dry time between each step. It’s worth it!
Stained concrete is exciting. Most uses are interior, but we are seeing many outside applications. Think of it just like wood stain. It colors the concrete; durability is dependant on the clear finish applied. These have a dramatic look to them. Not as popular for the garage floor because they are transparent so you see more imperfections but are an option. Just select a urethane clear finish instead of an acrylic or solvent born.
Metal essence is quite an accent finish. Great for a really exciting floor or maybe Formica counter top. This product is dazzling.
PERMA-CRETE® Plex-Seal
PERMA-CRETE® Plex-Seal ™ WB Interior/Exterior Clear Sealer
4-6200 is a clear, non-yellowing, film forming, water-borne acrylic
sealer ideal for use on interior/exterior, above-grade, vertical and
horizontal surfaces. This fast drying sealer has exceptional hot tire
resistance while providing excellent adhesion. PERMA-CRETE® Plex-
Seal ™ WB is water resistant and seals the surface while maintaining
the natural appearance of the substrate. Perma-Crete Plex Seal WB
is ideal for use on concrete surfaces such as garage floors,
driveways, pool decks, walkways, warehouse floors and more.
AQUAPON® 35 Polyamide-Epoxy
AQUAPON® 35 Polyamide-Epoxy Gloss is recommended for heavy duty service in corrosive industrial atmospheres where a tough, impact, abrasion and mar-resistant coating is needed. Apply over properly prepared and primed steel, galvanized steel or aluminum. Also recommended for use on masonry surfaces, including plaster walls, cement composite board and concrete block.
Perma-Crete Color Seal Concrete Stain
PERMA-CRETE® Color Seal™ WB Interior/Exterior Acrylic Concrete Stain 4-4200 series is a film forming, tintable, water borne, acrylic concrete stain ideal for use on interior/exterior, above-grade, vertical and horizontal surfaces. This fast drying stain is water and chemical resistant. Color Seal WB has exceptional hot tire resistance while providing good adhesion. This low odor product seals the surface and improves the appearance of the substrate by adding color and durability. Sure Step - Acrylic Anti-slip Concrete Paint
Sure Step is an extremely durable, skid resistant finish for interior and exterior concrete or asphalt. It may be applied to tennis courts, patios, walkways, steps, ramps, concrete pool decks, etc… Sure-Step offers excellent abrasion resistance as well as exceptional color retention, even when exposed to bright sunlight. Sure Step, when cured, is very resistant to ponding water and has a rated slip coefficient of less than 1.
